Frequently Asked Questions

Q. How do I make an appointment?

A. Please use my booking site to make an appointment. You will find links throughout this site, including the bottom of this page and in the main drop down menu. If you have any questions about which appointment to book, please text me at (626)353-4765.

Q. How Much do hair extensions cost?

A. The answer to this question varies greatly depending on the desired outcome. For this reason, all pricing is done during a consultation in-person. Due to variances in hair texture and density it is impossible to give an exact quote over the phone or online. This is a luxury service and it requires more than just a monetary investment, it also requires investing the time it takes to properly care for your hair extensions. Depending on the look you’re trying to achieve, the typical price range starts at about $600 and can go up $3,000+.

Q. How Much does a Hairdreams Microline cost?

A. The answer to this question varies depending on the desired outcome. These particularly toppers take a very long time to make. They are made by hand, each strand of hair is hand-tied one by one. Each piece takes about 4-6 months to create. Due to the intense labor required to create these one-of-a-kind hair toppers they can range anywhere from $1,500-$3,000. The maintenance is every 3-4 weeks in the salon and that appointment can range from $125 - $350.

Q. what is a consultation and why do i need one?

A. A consultation is a meeting to discuss your current hair goals. Its is important to have a consultation done in person so that I can properly match your hair color, texture and density. There are a few occasions where a consultation is not necessary. For example, if you have been wearing hair extensions for quite some time and you already know exactly what you need & how much of it to complete your look.

Q. will the cost of consultation go towards my appointment?

A. Yes, if we decide to move forward then the cost of the consultation will go towards your next service booked.

Q. Can I Bring my own hair?

A. I only work with and install hair from brands that I know personally and work with on a consistent basis. This ensures the quality of not only the hair itself, but also the outcome of the appointment and overall look. So the answer is no, you must book an appointment for a consultation to get properly color matched & we will go from there.

Q. do you keep hair in stock?

A. No, hair is custom ordered for each & every client when it is needed.

Q. how long do hair extensions last?

A. With proper care, your hair extensions should last you 6 months - 1 year. There are some exceptions: Ktips usually last 3-5 months and are not reusable.

Q. what methods do you offer?

A. I offer Microlinks (itips), Fusion (ktips), Tape - Ins, Beaded Wefts, Hand-Tied Wefts, Hairdreams Nano and Hairdreams Miroline.

Q. what kind of hair do you use?

A. I only work with ethically sourced, 100% human hair. That means the hair comes from human donors who either donate their hair for religious & spiritual reasons, or they willingly have their ponytail cut off for a fair wage. Due to this, the cuticle is intact and flawless. The hair then undergoes a weeks - months long process to ensure the quality is up to standards.

Q. where do hair extensions come from?

A. For the most part, human hair extensions come from Europe, Asia and Brazil. More specifically: India, China, Russia, Austria and surrounding regions.

Q. can i swim with hair extensions in?

A. Yes, you can. It is recommended that before swimming, you brush your hair & apply a leave in conditioner to protect your hair from absorbing chemicals in the water. Then braid or twist into a bun so that your hair does not get tangled while you swim. Afterwards, be sure to wash your hair immediately and follow up with a good conditioner. If you are unable to wash immediately afterwards, rinse your hair with some bottled water.

Q. will hair extensions damage my hair?

A. With expert installation and proper care, no. But, the truth is, ALL extensions put stress on the natural hair which, if not properly cared for, can result in damage. During every appointment, I will keep you updated on the condition of your hair. I will also go over your daily routine to see how it's affecting your scalp and hair. Although I educate you and give you support whenever you have a question or concern, it is your sole responsibility to properly care for and maintain your extensions so you may eliminate or reduce the risk of damage. With proper at-home care and regular maintenance appointments, your extensions should cause you NO damage. If you want to minimize stress on your natural hair as much as possible, I suggest you get fitted for clip in extensions or a custom Halo.

Q. will my hair extensions look natural?

A. With every single guest I ensure that the appropriate amount of time is given during a consultation so that together we can achieve your dream hair in the most natural way possible. This starts with determining ALL of the colors that are present in your hair, selecting the right texture, the right wave pattern, finishing with the perfect amount of extensions and completing the service with a blended haircut. I also pay close attention to how your hair grows and parts to determine placement so that you don't have any extensions showing or peeping through.

Q. what is included with an appointment?

A. The hair, of course. During the appointment, I will teach you how to properly care for your extensions at home including washing and brushing techniques. You will receive an At-Home Care kit containing all your essentials: a brush, shampoo, conditioner, leave-in spray, a silk scrunchie, a sectioning clip and a maintenance guide to help you if you have questions at home. You can also text me if you have any other questions or concerns.

Q. Is this a Hairdreams USA Salon?

A. No, Hair Dreams Boutique Salon is a privately owned hair salon, independent of Hairdreams USA.
